Inbound Route definitions
Inbound route documents describe how a Sms received from the GSM network should be processed.
In this release inbound Sms messages may only be delivered via email to a Lotus Notes® user .
In case automatching has been enabled in the mail interface document, Sms4Domino creates
automatically Inbound Route documents. These may be complemented by fixed route documents.
Fixed route documents have precedence over the auto matching route documents.
Inbound route documents are read from the configuration database when needed. You may
create/update route documents without the need to restart Sms4Domino.

Domino
When an inbound Sms is received from the GSM network Sms4Domino looks for the presence of
Inbound Route
documents. The documents are ordered by
weight
: the heighest weight
documents are consulted first.
Routing documents are skipped if the type of routing document has been disabled in the
definition of the
Interface
. Routing documents are skipped if they do not match the received Sms
(either based on the sender's phone number, the content of the Sms or the gateway that received
the Sms).
There could be zero, one or more matching heighest weight routing documents.
Zero documents: the process is repeated for the second heighest weight documents. If
there are no more
Inbound Route
documents the received Sms is processed according
to the settings in the
Instance Configuration
document.
Exactly one document: this document determines how the inbound Sms will be
transformed into a mail message.
More than one document: this is a conflict situation. There are no conflict handlers for
Fixed routing
documents. Conflicting
Automatching routing
documents may be resolved
by one or more conflict handlers. Either the conflict gets resolved or the process gets
repeated for the second heighest weight documents.

Company Acme, active in recruitment, has just given a GSM to the secretary of the CEO and
CFO. When a Sms is received from one of the secretaries by Sms4Domino it should be routed
to the CEO or CFO. Fixed routing must be configured.
Acme also launched a contest. People may send a Sms with a reply to a question that is
published on the web site. The Sms must start with **CONTEST**. The secretary of the CEO is
also allowed to participate in the contest. Content based fixed routing must be configured.
Recruiters have lists of GSM numbers of potential candidates. Each recruiter uses Sms4Domino
to send daily about 100 Sms messages to potential candidates. When the candidate replies to
such a Sms, the return Sms should be routed to the recruiter. The recruiters are also allowed to
participate in the content. Auto-matching routing must be configured.
It is important to assign the heighest weight to the content based fixed routing document. Then
there are two fixed routing documents for the secretaries. Standard auto-matching is used for
the recruiters.
