Sms4Domino integrates in any Domino infrastructure. Following drawing illustrates the
architecture when Sms4Domino is running as a server addin. Typically the configuration
database and the Sms4Domino program are located on the same server. One or more modems
are connected via either COM ports or via the LAN to the Domino server. Sms4Domino may
also connect to a SMS service provider (e.g. Clickatell) over HTTP.
End users and systems may send mail from different kind of workstations anywhere in the
network. Domino will route the mail to Sms4Domino.
The running Sms4Domino program will be called a Sms4Domino instance. In this diagram the
instance is running with the credentials of the Domino server.
As an alternative Sms4Domino may run on a Windows workstation where the Lotus Notes® 8.x
client has been installed. The modems are connected to the COM ports of the workstation or to
the LAN. The configuration database resides on any of the Domino® servers.
In this diagram there is also only one Sms4Domino instance running with the credentials of the
user.id defined by the notes.ini file of the workstation.
