3.4. Hardware Installation Procedures
Prepare necessary cables, hub, power cord and RS-232/RS-485 connector.
Place SW to the area that an access point can cover, or connect it via Ethernet cable with RJ45
connector.
Connect SW’s serial port to a serial server; make sure the connector of RS-232 or RS-485 is correct.
Plug in SW to DC-9-30V power source (Or to a 9~30V DC Terminal Block, the buzzer will beep and the
RUN LED will blink if SW’s functions normally. LED Status sees Appendix A.4.
Use monitor.exe configuration utility on the product CD to check the status of SW. If it starts up
successfully, one shall find the IP and MAC addresses of SW. One may change IP address, gateway IP
address and subnet mask networking parameters of SW to join your LAN.
Note: If there are more than one access points, the access point’s SSID shall the same.

The SW default settings are shown in the following table:
