1.Mechanicalrisks
Handling
Theappliancemustbehandledandinstalledinawaysuitedtotheweightand
sizeoftheappliance.
Location
Theapplianceshouldbeshelteredfromtheweatherandprotectedfromfrost.
Positioning
Theapplianceshouldbepositionedasrecommendedbythemanufacturer.
2.Electricalrisks
Connections
• Connect the appliance according to the manufacturer’s diagrams and instruc-
tions.Takeparticularcarenot to neutralisethethermostat;direct connection is
forbidden.
• Toavoidthesupplycableoverheating,usethetypeandsectionofcablerecom-
mendedintheinstallationmanual.Inanyevent,complywiththeregulationsin
force.
• Makesurethatthereisanelectricalprotectionbetweenthemainsandtheap-
plianceanduser(forexampleinFrance,a30mAdifferentialcircuit-breaker).
• Checktheconnectionsaretight.
• Theappliancemustbeconnectedtoagoodearthconnection.
• Ensurethatlivepartsremaininaccessible.Coversmustbepresentintheirorigi-
nalconditionandopeningsforcablesofasuitablediameter.
• Beforeremovingthecover,makesurethepoweristurnedoff.
3.Hydraulicrisks
Pressure
Theappliances must beusedwithintherange of pressuresforwhichthey were
designed.
Connection, drains
• Theinstallationofahydraulicsafetyunit,includingatleastapressurevalve,is
compulsory.Itmustbemounteddirectlyonthecoldwaterinlet.
• Donotblockthedrainopeningofthevalve.Connectthedrainopeningofthe
valvetoawastewateroutlet.
• Ifthereisexcessivepressure,theowmustnotbesloweddowninanyway.
Connectthesafetyunittoadrainpipe,keptintheopenair,inafrost-freearea
andonacontinuousdownwardslopetodrainanyexpandedheatedwaterorto
drainthewaterheater.
Thismeansthatthedrainpipe’sdiametermustbeadaptedtotheow.
• Takecarenottoreversethehotwaterandcoldwaterconnections.
• Checkforleaks.
