2.Connectingthewater
Thewaterheatermustbeconnectedtothewatersupplyinaccordancewith
standardsandwiththeregulationsinforceinthecountrywhereitwillbeinstalled
(forFrance,D.T.U.60.1).
2.1 Identication of piping on the appliance
• EachtubeisaØ20/27(50Lto300L)steelpipewithgaspitchthreadedend.
• Thecoldwaterinletismarkedbyabluecollar,andthehotwateroutletismarked
byaredcollar.
2.2 Connections to tubing
• Thenatureoftheconnectingtubesmayberigid,usuallycopper(blacksteelis
prohibited)orexible(standardexiblestainlesssteelbraid).
• Ifcopperpipingisused,itmustbeconnectedtothehotwateroutletusingthe
suppliedinsulatedttingoracastironsleevetopreventcorrosionofthepipe(di-
rectcontactiron/copper).Brassttingsareprohibitedatthislevel(NFC15-100
forFrance).
• Theconnectingtubesmustbesealedwhileinstallingthewaterheater(axbre,
etc.),evenifcrosslinkedPEpipesareused.
• Anewsafetydevice(notsupplied)mustbeinstalledonthewaterheaterinput
andmustcomplywiththestandardsinforce(inEurope:EN1487),pressure7
bar-0.7MPa-andsize3/4’’(1’’forthe500l).Connectthesafetyunittoadrain
pipe,kept intheopenair, inafrost-free areaandonacontinuousdownward
slopetodrainanyexpandedheatedwaterortodrainthewaterheater.
• Adischargepipeconnectedtothe safetyunitmust beinstalledin afrost-free
area,onacontinuousdownwardslope.
• Ifpipesmadeofsyntheticmaterial(suchasPER)areused,acontrolthermostat
mustalwaysbeplacedonthewaterheateroutlet.Itshouldbesetappropriately
forthematerialused.
• Thepipesusedmustwithstand100°Cand10bar-1MPa.
