Personal Video Recorder
The Personal Video Recorder provides simple controls and
powerful recording options. You can record a clip of full-
motion video and audio from your video source and save it as
an MPEG, AVI, VCR, or WMV file.
You can play recorded files in the File Player (see File Player
on page 125.) Advanced time-lapse and motion-triggered
recording modes are available.
The Schedule feature lets you record TV programs on the dates
and times you specify (see Schedule on page 155).
VIDEOSOAP™, ATI’s custom video noise reduction system,
lets you remove noise that was in the original content or analog
noise introduced as a result of poor transmission, substandard
cabling, or poor analog-to-digital conversion (see Using
VIDEOSOAP on page 43).
To start the Personal Video Recorder
When you record video from TV (see To record a clip of
video and audio on page 34), the Personal Video
Recorder opens automatically.
Because TV-ON-DEMAND (see page 35) records to
your hard drive, you cannot use the Personal Video
Recorder in TV-ON-DEMAND mode. Instead, use the
Export function (see page 37) when you are in TV-ON-
DEMAND mode.
VIDEOSOAP is not available with
ALL-IN-WONDER VE cards.
