Converting Media Files
When you capture video from TV, setting the Recording Quality
to Good or Longer saves files in ATI VCR (Proprietary ATI
video format), which can only be played on the ATI File Player.
To convert ATI VCR files to MPEG format
1 Add the .VCR file to the Library by scanning for content or
by dragging it into the Library's content (upper) window.
2 Right-click the file, and then click Export to MPEG-2 or
Export to MPEG-4 in the drop-down menu.
MPEG-4 capture is compatible with ISO 14496-2,
Advanced Simple Profile Format Addendum video encode
function, which defines a number of levels of encode
functionality; MP3 format audio encoding is provided for
DivX compatibity.
3 Save the file in the location of your choice (the default is
My Documents in your Windows desktop).
You can also convert TV-ON-DEMAND files recorded from
ATI TV to MPEG-2 format (see TV-ON-DEMAND on page 87).
