DVD-Video Audio Settings
The Audio settings page lets you control how DVD handles
audio.
The Multimedia Center supports standard DVD-Video,
which provides stereo and compressed, multi-channel
surround sound using Dolby® Digital or DTS® encoding.
DVD-Audio (DVD-A) is a separate standard, which requires
a DVD-Audio player.
To open the Audio settings page
Click the Setup button in the DVD control panel, and
then click the Audio tab.

Audio options
Decode and down-mix to 2 channels
The audio decoder “passes-through” non-PCM
multichannel audio or 2-channel audio as LPCM (normal).
Pass through to audio device
Some audio cards may incorrectly report several audio
devices that support non-PCM audio input
(Dolby® Digital, DTS, etc.). For correct operation, you
should specify the audio device you want to use.
If only one audio device reports support for non-PCM
audio, the audio device selection is greyed-out and
displays the only choice.
If no audio devices report support for non-PCM audio,
only the Decode and down-mix to 2 channels is
available.
Dolby Options Stereo
Play audio in 2-channel stereo.
Dolby® Pro Logic®
Play audio using Dolby Pro Logic.
