22 Installing the Hardware and Software
To identify new hardware in Windows
®
2000
After restarting your system, Windows
®
2000 briefly displays
the “New Hardware Found” dialog. Depending upon your new
hardware, Windows
®
2000 either automatically installs its own
bundled drivers, or it launches the “Add New Hardware
Wizard”.
If Windows
®
2000 automatically installs drivers for your new
hardware, proceed to To install the ATI enhanced drivers for
Windows® 2000 on page 23.
If Windows
®
2000 does not have a driver available, when the
“Found New Hardware Wizard” window appears, click
CANCEL, and proceed to To install the ATI enhanced drivers
for Windows® 2000 on page 23.
