base to achieve more downward adjustability or place under the
rear base (nearest shooter) to achieve more upward adjustability.
2. Reticles
The reticles in your Athlon Argos BTR riescope are rst focal
plane (FFP). This is according to where the reticle is located with-
in the riescope.
First focal plane (FFP) reticles are located in front of the image
erecting and magnifying lenses. With the reticle in this position,
the reticle is magnied along with the viewing image. The tra-
ditional thin wire reticle now becomes very large at high power.
Some etched reticles have ne subtentions that are not usable at
low power but become very functional at high power for longer
shots. The advantage of this type of reticle is the size of the ret-
icle stays the same size in relationship to the size of the target.
This allows for any subtentions on the reticle to be the same at
any power.
