does not visually change in size when you change the magnica-
tion. The advantage of an SFP reticle is that it always maintains
the same ideal visual appearance. If your reticle style has subten-
tions that help you determine where to aim depending on distance
from target and windage, it will have been engineered for only one
particular magnication. That is highlighted on your Athlon scope
with a green number on the magnication adjustment.
First focal plane (FFP) reticles are located in front of the image
erecting and magnifying lenses. With the reticle in this position,
the reticle is magnied along with the viewing image. The tradi-
tional thin wire reticle now becomes very large at high power. Some
etched reticles have ne subtentions that are not usable at low
power but become very functional at high power for longer shots.
The advantage of this type of reticle is the size of the reticle stays
the same size in relationship to the size of the target. This allows
for any subtentions on the reticle to be the same at any power.
Please see the following reticle subtensions and nd more details
from reticle instruction manual to fully utilize the features and
maximize the performance of the reticle design. You can down-
load the reticle instruction manual from the product specica-
tions tag of the product page on www.athlonoptics.com
