GettingStarted
Whenyouturnonanapplianceoratoolthatoperatesusingamotorortubes,itrequiresaninitialsurgeofpower
to start up. This surge of power is referred to as the "starting load" or "peak load". Once started, the tool or
appliancerequires lesspower tocontinue
to operate.This isreferred to as"continuousload" in terms of power
requirements. Youwill needto determinehowmuchpower your tool orappliance requires tostart up (starting
load) and it's continued running power requirements (continuous load). Power consumption is rated either in
wattage(watts)orin
amperes(amps)andthisinformationisusuallystampedorprintedonmostappliancesand
equipment. If this inf orma tion is not indicated on the appliance or equipment, check the owner's manual or
contactthemanufacturertodetermineifthedeviceyouareusingiscompatiblewithamodifiedsinewavesource.


This formula yields a  closeapproximation ofthe starting load ofyourappliance.Most oftenthe start uploadof
theapplianceorpowertooldetermineswhetheryourinverterhas
thecapabilitytopowerit.

To determine whether the inverter will operate a particular piece of equipment or appliance, run a test. The
inverters  are designed to automatically shut down in the event of a power overload. This protection feature
preventsdamagetotheunitwhiletestingappliancesandequipment
withratingsinthe200wattrange.

If an appliance in the 200 watt range will not operate properly when first connected to the inverter, turn the
inverterrockerswitchON(I),OFF(O),andON(I)againinquicksuccession.Ifthisprocedureisnotsuccessful,itis
likelythat
theinverterdoesnothavetherequiredcapacitytooperatetheapplianceinquestion.


invertertoanyotherpowersource,includinganyACpowersource.
