Operation
• ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES
• First, refer to your vehicles manual for any specifics regarding changing your struts or springs and follow
ALL of the manufactures recommendations.
• Lubricate both main shafts (B) with oil
• Align the hooks (A & D) with the safety pins © backed off so the hooks will fit over the spring.
• Position both sets of hooks 180˚ apart, opposite each other (as shown in FIGURE 1).
• Push safety pins (C) in the lock position on hooks (A & D)
• Using a ¾” or 19mm socket and ratchet, turn the main shaft (B) to compress the strut spring enough to
safely remove the fastener nut holding the cartridge. IMPORTANT - Turn the main shaft (B) of each side
a few turns at a time to ensure equal pressure on each side of the spring. DO NOT COMPRESS
SPRING UNEQUALLY – SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH COULD OCCUR.
