Theaudiblealarmmaymake amomentary"chirp”whenthe inverteristurnedOFF (0).Thissamealarm
mayalsosoundwhentheinverterisbeingconnectedtoordisconnectedfromthe12voltpowersource.
Use of an extension cord from the inverter to the
appliance or equipment being operated will not
significantlydecreasethepowerbeinggeneratedbytheinverter.Forbestoperatingresults,theextension
cordshouldbenomorethan50feetlong.
TelevisionandAudioSug gestions
Althoughtheseinvertersareshieldedandfilteredtominimizesignalinterf er ence,someinterferencewithyour
televisionpicturemaybeunavoidable,especiallywithweaksignals.However,herearesomesuggestionsthatmay
improvereception.
1. First,makesurethattelevisionantennaproducesaclearsignalundernormaloperatingconditions(i.e.,at
home
pluggedintoastandard110VACwalloutlet).Also,ensurethattheantennacableisproperlyshielded
andofgoodquality.
2. Changethepositionsoftheinverter,antennacablesandtelevisionpowercord.
3. Isolatethetelevision,itspowercordandantennacablesfromthe12voltpowersource
byrunningan
extensioncordfromtheinvertertothetelevisionset.
4. Coilthetelevisionpowercordandtheinputcablesrunningfromthe12voltpowersourcetotheinverter.
5. Attacha"FerriteDataLineFilter"tothetelevisionpowercord.Morethanonefiltermayberequired.

filtersareavailableatmostelectronicsupplystores.
Note
Inexpensivesoundsystemsmayemita"buzzing"soundwhenoperatedwiththeinverter.Thisisdueto
inadequatefiltersinthesoundsystem.Thereisnosolutiontothisproblemshortofpurchasingasound
systemwithahigherqualitypowersupply.
Operating a Microwave oven with Your Power Inverter
The power rating used with microwave ovens is the "cooking power" which qualifies as the power being
"delivered" to the food being microwaved. The actual operating power requirement rating is higher than the
cookingpowerrating.Thisisusuallyreferencedonthebackofthemicrowave.Iftheoperatingpowerrequirement
cannotbefoundonthebackofthemicrowave,checktheowner'smanualorcontactthemanufacturer.
BlownPowerInverterFuses
Yourpowerinverterisequippedwith30ampspadetypefuses.Withreasonablecareitshouldnotbenecessary
toreplacethesefuses.Mostblownfusesaretheresultofreversepolarityorashortcircuitwithintheapplianceor
equipmentbeingoperated.Ifthefusehappenstoblow,disconnectthe
applianceorequipmentimmediately,find
thesourceoftheproblem,repairit,andtheninstallanewfuse.

Mostautomobileandmarinebatterieswillprovideanamplepowersupplytotheinverterfor30to60minutes
evenwhentheengineisoff.Actualtimemayvarydependingupontheageandconditionofthebattery,andthe
powerdemandbeingplacedonitbytheequipmentbeingoperated
withtheinverter.
