Telephone operation
Options while on calls
Chain dialing
Use this feature to initiate a dialing sequence from numbers stored in the
directory, caller ID log or redial list while you are on a call.
Chain dialing can be useful if you wish to access other numbers (such as
bank account numbers or access codes) from the directory, caller ID log or
redial list.
To access a number in the directory while on a call:
Using a handset:
Press OPTION .
Press CID or DIR to highlight Directory, then press SELECT .
Press CID or DIR to highlight the desired directory, then press REVIEW .
Press CID or DIR to highlight to the desired entry or perform an
alphabetical search (page 83).
Press DIAL to dial the displayed number.
Using the telephone base:
Press OPTION .
Press CID or DIR to highlight Directory, then press SELECT .
Press CID or DIR to highlight the desired directory, then press REVIEW .
Press CID or DIR to highlight to the desired entry or perform an
alphabetical search (page 83).
Press DIAL to dial the displayed number.
Transfer a call
While on an outside call, you can transfer the call from one device to another.
Press OPTION, then press SELECT to highlight Transfer.
Your handset or the telephone base displays TRANSFER TO: and a list
of registered devices.
Press CID or DIR on the handset or CID or DIR on the
telephone base to highlight the destination device and then
press SELECT.
Your handset or telephone base displays Transferring call to HANDSET X,
Transferring call to BASE 0 or Transferring call to all... when you choose
Group. The destination device(s) rings.
Your handset or telephone base displays Call transferred when the other
device picks up the call. You hear a confirmation tone.
NOTE: If the destination device does not answer within 30 seconds, the caller device
displays No response to transfer and rings. If the caller device does not answer the call on
hold within 30 seconds, the call will end automatically.
