The Administrator’s Mailbox contains the special instructions that lead you through
the customization process. When you open the Administrator’s Mailbox it operates
like any other mailbox except that its menu of mailbox options contains the option,
“To perform system set-up, press nine.
After you press 9, you must enter a second and
special password, referred to as the administration password. This is a password
distinct from the Administrator’s Mailbox password. Initially this password is 0000.
After entering the administration password you hear a menu of options describing
the customization tasks available. These include:
Recording company greetings
Setting up call routing (advanced answering services)
Changing system operation
Mailbox administration
Changing system parameters
Changing key system integration parameters
Locking and unlocking mailboxes
The mailbox number and password of the Administrator’s Mailbox should be
recorded on the Installation Data Form in Appendix A. Use this mailbox number and
password to open the Administrator’s Mailbox now.
