To Control Your Telephone’s Message Light:

1. During the Chapter 3 installation step, Connecting the Telephone Emulation Lines,

install the first telephone emulation cable between voice terminal jack 10 (or Jack 0

on a Merlin 206) of your Merlin Control Unit and the CLASSIC MAIL system’s

telephone emulation jack 1. See Figure 4G.

If a voice terminal cable is already installed in Voice terminal jack 10 (or 0), you must

remove this cable and reinstall it in any vacant voice terminal jack. If you have

previously completed the Chapter 3 procedure "Initializing the CLASSIC MAIL

System," complete steps 2 and 3 as well. Otherwise return to Chapter 3 and begin

the installation procedure "Installing the Power Supply."
