Upgrading to MERLIN MAGIX Release 1.5

You can use the PCMCIA Upgrade card provided in Release 1.5 of the MERLIN
MAGIX system to do one of two things: upgrade the system software to
Release 1.5 or upgrade only the firmware on modules. If you choose to
upgrade only the firmware on the modules, you leave the system software
unchanged.
Upgrading the System Software 7
Follow these steps to upgrade the system software to Release 1.5 of the
MERLIN MAGIX system:
1. Back up system programming.
2. Insert the Upgrade card into the PCMCIA slot on the processor module.
3. Follow this system programming path: Maintenance
→System→
Upgrade.
The screen shows Validation of MemoryCard in Progress and
then Validation of MemoryCard Successfully Completed.
4. Select Exit.
5. Select Yes on the next screen. (The system continues with the upgrade.)
6. After the system cold-starts, make some test calls to ensure that all types
of calls can be made.
7. Back up the customer’s translations onto the PC’s hard drive.
You must be running WinSPM Release 2.0 on a PC to upgrade the
system.
