analog multiline telephone to optional equipment such as

request for service (puts ground on ring lead) to the
telephone company central office.
A fax unit, offering 400x100 dots per inch (DPI) in fine

microphone is muted when the call arrives.

allows users to make and receive calls on the
speakerphone without using the handset.

The Home screen shows time, date, and call information,
and shows when some features are in use. (For example,
DO NOT DISTURB is displayed when the user has turned
on the Do Not Disturb feature.)
A telephone company or other switch providing features
and services to the communications system users, usually
when the system is operating in Behind Switch mode.
Cable that runs from the equipment room to a small, walk-in
closet (called a satellite closet) elsewhere in the building.
