Inspect
MLX telephone users can inspect
No display

the contents of programmed
buttons by pressing Inspect and
then pressing the programmed
button. In most cases, the display
shows the feature or line assigned
to the button. (In a Release 2.0 or
later system, inspecting a Last
Number Dial or Saved Number
Dial button shows the number
stored on the button.)
Users can also inspect incoming No display
calls or calls they have put on hold.
The display shows standard call
information (see Receiving Calls in
this table).
If a user inspects a line that
someone else is using, the display
shows that the line is in use.

When a user has a message, the
display shows the name or
extension of the caller and, on MLX
telephones, the time and date the
message was left. Messages can
be sent from inside extensions, by
the system operator, by a fax
machine, or, if the telephone has
voice mail, by outside callers.
