Phone Lock
You can stop the unauthorized use
of your cell phone. Change the phone
lock code (0000) to any four- to eight-
digit personal code.
Automatic phone lock
If the phone lock is set to automatic,
you do not need to enter your phone
lock code until a different SmartChip
is inserted in the cell phone.
To set the phone lock
1 From standby select Menu } Settings
} the General tab } Security } Locks
} Phone Protection } Protection.
2 Select an alternative.
3 Enter the phone lock code and
select OK.
To unlock the cell phone
• Enter your code and select OK.
To change your phone lock code
• From standby select Menu } Settings
} the General tab } Security } Locks
} Phone Protection } Change Code.
Automatic key lock
You can prevent accidentally dialing
a number when the cell phone is not
in use.
To set automatic key lock
From standby select Menu } Settings
} the General tab } Security } Locks
} Automatic Key lock.
Startup Screen
The startup screen appears when
you turn your cell phone on

To select a startup screen
1 From standby select Menu } Settings
} the Display tab } Startup Screen.
2 Select an option.
To set the brightness
• From standby select Menu } Settings
} the Display tab } Brightness.
It is important that you remember
your new code. If you forget it, you
have to take your cell phone to your
local Sony Ericsson retailer.
