The email gateway is defined in the $VSIFAX/lib/vsisrv.ini file, under the [VMAIL] section. The two main flags
to set are:
server : contains the IP address or fully qualified host name of the SMTP server. Default value is set during
installation.
sender : SMTP user name. This is the name that is shown in the fax recipient's email inbox. Default is
VsifaxServer.

Refer to Tag Reference in the Reference Addendum
documentation for details on the tags to set and how you
can set them from the command line, from VSI-FAX Server Administration (MMC), or from from the clients.
Outbound fax notifications
To get an Outbound Fax notification (fax sent successfully or not), you need to set the following tags on the user
profile:
To get the email notification without the .tif file attached:
not (Send Notify Mode): the type of notification (nty-ok or nty-fail to get a notification in success or failure)
mad (From Email Address): the email address of the user
To get an email notification with the .tif file attached:
sfx (Email Copy of Sent Faxes to Sender): notification type (nty-ok or nty-fail to get a notification in success
or failure)
sfe (Sent Fax Email Address): the email address of the user
Note
If the "sfe" and "mad" values are the same, only the notification with the .tif file attached is sent. If the email
addresses are different, two emails are sent, one with the .tif file attached and one without the .tif file attached.
Inbound fax notifications
To set up the inbound notification, you first need to verify that the inbound fax is associated with the proper user
profile (either according to the DID/DTMF extension or because the device is associated with the user profile).
Then, you need to setup the aem and rfe tags.
aem (Automatically Email Routed Fax): controls whether or not to automatically email routed faxes
rfe (Routed Fax Email Address): the email address that should receive routed faxes
The rfm tag corresponds to the format of the routed fax (can be routed as a .tif file or as a .pdf file).
