The BCM supports failover to a second IP border element. The system will need
patch BCM.R400.085-IPTEL for this functionality to be supported. The BCM
will send [SYN] requests to the primary border element as keep-alive. If there is
no response from the primary, the BCM will send [SYN] requests to the
secondary. If the secondary responds with [SYN, ACK], the BCM will direct calls
to the secondary border element. In the meanwhile, the BCM will periodically
send [SYN] requests to the primary.
Additionally, the AT&T IP Flexible Reach service will send incoming calls to the
BCM from multiple IP border elements. The BCM will accept calls from any
border element without additional configuration.

Within the Media Parameters tab; ensure that all values are exactly as the
sample screen shot shown below:

• T.38 Fax Support: Enabled
• G.729 Payload Size: 20
* For default configurations, G.729A codec will be used for voice calls. However,
in the case that G.729B needs to be configured instead of G.729A, ensure that
“Enable Voice Activity Detection” is checked.
