Troubleshooting Tips
Ringer doesn't work:
1. If the phone does not ring at all, you may have the ringer turned off. Please ensure the ringer
is on and adjust the ringer volume if necessary. To turn on the ringer, press the VOL+ key.
2. Check the installation of the unit. Make sure the telephone line cord is connected from the
base unit to a telephone jack. If the cord is already plugged in, unplug the cord at both ends
and reconnect.
3. Disconnect any other equipment that is connected in series with your phone. If you phone
begins to perform normally, there is a compatibility issue with your other equipment.
4. You may have a defective telephone cord. Try replacing cord between the jack and
telephone base.
5.You may need to reset your telephone. Complete the following to reset your unit.
Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base and remove the batteries.
Step 2: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base and
reinstall the batteries.
Step 3: Set the day and time.
6. If your phone doesn't ring, connect a different phone (preferably corded) to that line. If that
phone rings, there may be a problem with your other phone. If it doesn't ring, you may have a
line or wiring problem at that jack. If none of your telephones ring, contact your telephone
service provider. If you do not have a different phone for testing, take your phone to a
different location, such as a friends or neighbors home, and test it there. If the problem
persists, there may be a malfunction with the unit.
Static/Audio Noise:
1. If you subscribe to DSL service for this telephone line, DSL filters must be plugged into EVERY
phone jack that has a phone.
2. Are you using the speakerphone when this problem occurs? Your speakerphone will only
allow sound to travel in one direction at a time. It can either receive or transmit; it cannot do
both at once. Background noise can cause the unit to seem like it is cutting in and out, when
really it is switching modes
3. If you have other equipment installed on the lines, it can cause interference on your system.
Try unplugging the other equipment. If the static goes away, try installing the adjunct device
with a different line cord or in a different jack.
4. Make sure that you are using the AC Adapter that came in the box with your unit. Using the
wrong AC Adapter with this phone, may cause the unit to malfunction.
