The ultimate tool for remote backup
Rsync is an application originally developed for UNIX that is
usually used for backup and sync between two computers.
By providing block level replication, Rsync is able to oer
incremental backup. Incremental backup allows for successive
backup jobs (after your rst backup job) to only copy data that
has changed since your last backup job. Rsync is suitable for use
with les and data that are always changing. It lets you cut down
on backup time while signicantly reducing bandwidth usage.
A rich and exible backup solution
ASUSTOR's Rsync Backup function supports two-way data
transfers, incremental backup, encrypted backup and also
the scheduling of your NAS to perform regular backup jobs.
It eectively simplies data backup while also substantially
reducing the burden on IT sta. ASUSTOR's Rsync backup
function may be used to complete tasks such as:
- The transfer or backup of data from your NAS to an Rsync
compatible server
- Initiating downloads of the data from an Rsync compatible
server to your NAS
Advanced File Permissions Management - Windows ACL
For IT professionals, le permissions conguration is a very important topic, especially in enterprise environments. Because the
native Linux system le permission mechanisms are dierent than those in Windows, in the past, IT professionals had to create
a separate set of permissions for les stored on NAS servers. This also limited the number of permission conguration options
that were available to them.
In order to help IT professionals simply their work, ASUSTOR has comprehensively integrated Windows ACL into ADM. Windows
ACL provides a set of 13 dierent permissions settings, allowing administrators to congure permissions for individual les and
folders that can be applied to dierent groups and users. Windows ACL permissions can be congured from within ADM's File
Explorer or Microsoft Windows Explorer allowing administrators to easily manage permissions using familiar methods.
