• If you are not using the cradle,

connect the power/USB sync cable

plug directly to the power

connector at the bottom of the

device. Connect the other end of

the power/USB sync cable to a

grounded wall socket. See Figure 2.

Charging the battery

The device includes a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. You must

charge the battery before using the device the first time. The battery

starts charging as soon as you connect the AC adapter to a power

source. Use the AC adapter to plug your device to a power source

whenever possible, especially when you are using a modem or other

peripherals, using the device backlight, connecting to a PC, or letting

notification light flash for extended time periods.

When the device is on and the flip is

open, you can display the power status

by tapping

SettingsSettings

Settings

> System> System

> System

tab, and the

PowerPower

Power icon.

When the device is on and the flip is

closed, a battery icon appears in the top

left corner of the phone interface

indicating the battery power level.
