Setting up your
computer for
synchronisation
Even if you are synchronising email,
contacts, calendar events, and tasks
directly with Exchange Server 2003 or
2007, we recommend that you install the
desktop sync software from the Windows
Mobile Getting Started CD so that you can
sync your smartphone directly with your
computer. Why? Using the desktop sync
software enables you to synchronise
additional info such as pictures, videos,
music files, Microsoft Office files, and
notes, so you can create and work on files
on your smartphone and then sync
changes to your computer, where you then
have a backed-up and up-to-date copy of
important info.
Before you can synchronise, you need to
install your desktop sync software and
connect the USB sync cable to your
computer. Even if you already have
desktop sync software installed on your
computer, you must install the software
that came with your smartphone on the
Windows Mobile Getting Started CD.
