Youmayinstall4GB,8GB,16GB,32GB,and64GBRDIMMs;and32GB,64GB,and128
GBLRDIMMsintotheDIMMsockets.
YoumayinstallvaryingmemorysizesinChannelA,ChannelB,ChannelC,andChannel
D.Thesystemmapsthetotalsizeofthelower-sizedchannelforthequad-channel
conguration.Anyexcessmemoryfromthehigher-sizedchannelisthenmappedfor
single-channeloperation.
• ThedefaultmemoryoperationfrequencyisdependentonitsSerialPresenceDetect
(SPD),whichisthestandardwayofaccessinginformationfromamemorymodule.
Underthedefaultstate,somememorymodulesforoverclockingmayoperateata
lowerfrequencythanthevendor-markedvalue.
• Forsystemstability,useamoreefcientmemorycoolingsystemtosupportafull
memoryload(8DIMMs)oroverclockingcondition.
• AlwaysinstalltheDIMMSwiththesameCASLatency.Foranoptimumcompatibility,
werecommendthatyouinstallmemorymodulesofthesameversionordatacode
(D/C)fromthesamevendor.Checkwiththevendortogetthecorrectmemory
modules.
