4. Using the Notebook PC
USB to Printer Cable (Optional)
This Notebook PC does not provide a par-
allel port in order to save space, weight, as
well as increase the Notebook PCs speed
by removing slow components. Instead, a
USB to printer cable is provided. Connect
the printer cable to the provided USB to
printer cable and then plug the USB con-
nector to either of the two USB ports.
Again, if you need more ports, you should
buy the USB port replicator. With USB,
you can connect more than one standard
black/white or color inkjet or laser printer
to the Notebook PC.
Network Printing
In a networking environment, the Ethernet port can be used to print to a network printer sometimes
much faster than local ports depending on the network configuration. If available, ask your network
administrator about network printing.
Parallel Printer Compatibility List
Because this Notebook PC uses a USB to printer converter, only the following parallel printers are
compatible with this converter. All newer printers with USB interfaces can be connected directly to the
Notebook PCs USB port. Visit your dealers web site for updates.
