ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA BIOS Manual
CPU VRM Thermal Control
Disable this item to increase the temperature limit of the CPU VRM.
Configuration options: [Auto] [Disabled] [Enabled]
Boosted performance may vary depending on the CPU Graphics specification. DO NOT
remove the thermal module.
DRAM Current Capability
This item allows you to set the shut off current limit for external DRAM voltage
regulator. A higher setting will allow the voltage regulator to supply more current
while a lower setting will cause the voltage regulator to shut off the system when the
supplied current is higher than the set value.
Configuration options: [100%] - [130%]
Configure higher values when overclocking or when using high current memory stress
tests. Auto is configured to work with all configurations by default and should not need
adjustments unless running very high memory frequencies with high density memory
modules.
DRAM Switching Frequency
This item affects the VRM transient response speed and the component thermal
production. Setting a higher switching frequency will result in better transient response
at the expense of more switching noise.
Configuration options: [Auto] [Manual]
The following item appears only when DRAM Switching Frequency is set to [Manual].
Fixed DRAM Switching Frequency (KHz)
This item will affect the overclocking range and system stability. Configure
a higher frequency to increase the overclocking range of a lower
frequency to enhance the system stability. Use the <+> or <-> to adjust
the value. The values range from 300 KHz to 500 KHz.
Boot Voltages
CPU Core/Cache Boot Voltage
This item allows you to set the CPU voltage at initial bootup.
Configuration options: [Auto] [0.600] - [1.700]
DMI Boot Voltage
This item allows you to set the DMI voltage at initial bootup.
Configuration options: [Auto] [0.300] - [1.900]
CPU System Agent Boot Voltage
Configuration options: [Auto] [0.7000] - [1.8000]
CPU VCCIO Boot Voltage
Configuration options: [Auto] [0.9000] - [1.8000]
PLL Termination Boot Voltage
Configuration options: [Auto] [0.80000] - [1.60000]
