5.9 vPro Management Control Information
The
vPro
Management Control Information
allows you to remotely perform
repairs when an error occurs on the client OS, check the hardware assets when
the device powered off, pin point system errors using the event log and trap
alert system, and provide network management and network protection for client
devices.
The functions in this section are hardware controlled and values may differ
with the software version. Please refer to Chapter 4 for more information on
Software mode.
• The client device needs to support Intel vPro remote management
controller.
• Ensure to set the client device’s BIOS AMT and Intel MEBx settings to
enable the client device’s vPro functions before using these functions
through the management controller.
• Any mention of the trademark Intel or Intel vPro, are trademarks of Intel
Corporation or its subsidiaries.
