Chapter 1: Product Introduction
1.1 Welcome!
Thank you for buying an ASUS IPMI Expansion Card!
The ASUS IPMI Expansion Card can be installed to a non-server ASUS motherboard, and
allows you to monitor your remote device in real-time when installed to the ASUS motherboard
of your remote device. The solution allows you to reduce IT management costs and increase
the productivity. Compatibility with IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) 2.0 will
allow you to monitor, control, and manage a remote client device from the local or central
server in your local area network (LAN).
Before you start installing the IPMI Expansion Card, check the items in your package with the
list below.

Check your server management board package for the following items.
• 1 x IPMI Expansion Card
• 1 x BMC cable
• 1 x SPI cable
• 1 x Power On/Off cable
• 1 x Reset cable
• 1 x USB 2.0 cable
• 1 x IPMI TPM adapter
