Clear RTC RAM (2-pin CLRTC)

ThisheaderallowsyoutocleartheCMOSRTCRAMdataof

thesystemsetupinformationsuchasdate,time,andsystem

passwords.

To erase the RTC RAM:

1. TurnOFFthecomputerandunplugthepowercord.

2. Useametalobjectsuchasascrewdrivertoshortthetwo

pins.

3. PlugthepowercordandturnONthecomputer.

4. Holddownthe<Del>keyduringthebootprocessandenter

BIOSsetuptore-enterdata.

Ifthestepsabovedonothelp,removetheonboardbatteryandshortthetwopinsagain

tocleartheCMOSRTCRAMdata.AfterclearingtheCMOS,reinstallthebattery.

Front panel audio connector (10-1 pin AAFP)

Thisconnectorisforachassis-mountedfrontpanelaudioI/Omodulethatsupports

eitherHDAudioorlegacyAC`97audiostandard.Connectoneendofthefront

panelaudioI/Omodulecabletothisconnector.

• Werecommendthatyouconnectahigh-denitionfrontpanelaudiomoduletothis

connectortoavailofthemotherboard’shigh-denitionaudiocapability.

• Ifyouwanttoconnectahigh-denitionfrontpanelaudiomoduletothisconnector,

settheFrontPanelTypeitemintheBIOSsetupto[HDAudio].Ifyouwantto

connectanAC’97frontpanelaudiomoduletothisconnector,settheitemto

[AC97].Bydefault,thisconnectorissetto[HDAudio].

LPT connector (26-1 pin LPT)

TheLPT(LinePrintingTerminal)connectorsupportsdevicessuchasaprinter.

LPTstandardizesasIEEE1284,whichistheparallelportinterfaceonIBMPC-

compatiblecomputers.

Serial port connector (10-1 pin COM2)

Thisconnectorisforaserial(COM)port.Connecttheserialportmodulecableto

thisconnector,theninstallthemoduletoaslotopeningatthebackofthesystem

chassis.

Digital audio connector (4-1 pin SPDIF_OUT)

ThisconnectorisforanadditionalSony/PhilipsDigital

Interface(S/PDIF)port.ConnecttheS/PDIFOutmodule

cabletothisconnector,theninstallthemoduletoaslot

openingatthebackofthesystemchassis.
