Central Processing Unit (CPU)

ThismotherboardcomeswithasurfacemountLGA1151socket

designed for the 8th Generation Intel

Core™i7/Core™i5/Core™i3,

Pentium

and Celeron

processors.

UnplugallpowercablesbeforeinstallingtheCPU.

• EnsurethatyouinstallthecorrectCPUdesignedforthe

LGA1151socketonly.DONOTinstallaCPUdesignedforLGA1150,LGA1155and

LGA1156socketsontheLGA1151socket.

• Uponpurchaseofthemotherboard,ensurethatthePnPcapisonthesocketand

the socket contacts are not bent. Contact your retailer immediately if the PnP cap

ismissing,orifyouseeanydamagetothePnPcap/socketcontacts/motherboard

components.

• Keepthecapafterinstallingthemotherboard.ASUSwillprocessReturnMerchandise

Authorization(RMA)requestsonlyifthemotherboardcomeswiththecaponthe

LGA1151socket.

• Theproductwarrantydoesnotcoverdamagetothesocketcontactsresultingfrom

incorrectCPUinstallation/removal,ormisplacement/loss/incorrectremovalofthePnP

cap.

Installing the CPU

ApplytheThermalInterfaceMaterialtotheCPUheatsinkandCPUbeforeyouinstallthe

heatsink and fan if necessary.
