15.4 General Troubleshooting
Issue 1. Running Windows as VM over ESX with Mellanox HCAs
Virtual machines with Windows 2008 and later guest OS fail to power on ConnectX adapter
network cards are connected as Direct I/O PCI devices.
To solve this issue, perform the following steps:
1. Right-click the virtual machine and select Edit Settings.
2. Click the Options tab and expand Advanced.
3. Click Edit Configuration.
4. Click Add Row.
5. Add the parameter to the new row:
a. In the Name column, add pciPassthru0.maxMSIXvectors.
b. In the Value column, add 31.
6. Click OK and click OK again.

Issue 2. Hyper-V environment
In Hyper-V enviroment, Enable-NetAdapterVmq powershell command can enable VMQ on a
network adapter only if the virtual switch which does not have SR-IOV enabled is defined over
corresponding network adapter.
Suggestion: This is because the result of the powershell command depends on 2 registry fields:
*VMQ and *RssOrVmqPreference, when the former is controlled by powershell and the latter
is controlled by the virtual switch.

Issue 3. Installation
Setup fails when the remote desktop host service is installed due to a known issue in windows
when using the chain MSI feature.
Suggestion: Disable the service before the installation and enable it at the end.
