14.3.9 ibnetdiscover
ibnetdiscover performs IB subnet discovery and outputs a readable topology file. GUIDs, node
types, and port numbers are displayed as well as port LIDs and NodeDescriptions. All nodes
(and links) are displayed (full topology). Optionally, this utility can be used to list the current
connected nodes by node-type. The output is printed to standard output unless a topology file is
specified.

14.3.9.2 ibnetdiscover Options
The table below lists the various flags of the command.
Most OpenIB diagnostics take the following common flags.
The exact list of supported flags per
utility can be found in the usage message and can be shown using the util_name -h syntax.
--Guid, -G Uses GUID address argument. In most cases, it is the Port GUID. For
example: "0x08f1040023"
--sm_port, -s <smlid> Uses 'smlid' as the target lid for SM/SA queries
--Ca, -C <ca_name> Uses the specified ca_name
--Port, -P <ca_port> Uses the specified ca_port
--timeout, -t <timeout_ms> Overrides the default timeout for the solicited mads
Table 22 - ibnetdiscover Flags and Options
Flag Description
-l, --list Lists of connected nodes
-g, --grouping Shows grouping. Grouping correlates InfiniBand nodes by different
vendor specific schemes. It may also show the switch external ports
correspondence.
-H, --Hca_list Lists of connected CAs
-S, --Switch_list Lists of connected switches
-R, --Router_list Lists of connected routers
-s, --show Shows progress information during discovery
