2.26 Optional Fan Mounting Locations
The NUC 13 Extreme Kit and Compute Element feature additional fan mounting locations to
provide cooling options for customers.
2.26.1 Optional Fan Mounting Locations Kit
The NUC 13 Extreme Kit features three additional chassis fan mounting locations. These
locations are designed to mount a standard desktop 120mm x 120mm fan with self-tapping fan
mount screws. Two of the fan mounts are on the bottom of the chassis, while one is on the back
side if the hard drive bracket is removed. While there are three total extra mounting locations,
there is only one additional header for these fan locations. See figure 19 below for the locations.

2.26.2 Optional Fan Mounting Location Compute Element
The NUC 13 Extreme Compute Element features one additional chassis fan mounting location.
This additional location is designed to mount a standard desktop 92mm x 92mm fan to the
Element thermal solution using M3 threaded screws. It is possible to mount a 92mm x 92mm x
15mm thick fan in this location while using the NUC 13 Extreme chassis. See figure 20 below for
the location.
