5.6 BIOS Error Messages
Table 19 lists the error messages and provides a brief description of each.
Table 19. BIOS Error Messages
Error Message Explanation
CMOS Battery Failure
The battery may be losing power. Replace the battery soon.
CMOS Checksum Error
The CMOS checksum is incorrect. CMOS memory may have been corrupted. Run Setup to
reset values.
Memory Size Decreased Memory size has decreased since the last boot. If no memory was removed, then the
memory may be bad.
CMOS Timer Not Set
The battery may be losing power. Replace the battery soon.
Processor Thermal Trip
Processor overheated.
Auto RTC Reset
The system triggers RTC clear to recover the system back to the normal condition from
consecutive boot failure.
