4.6 Sharing a USB 2.0 printer via Printer server
Connect a USB 2.0 printer to a USB 2.0 port at the back of your NAS and share it with
Windows® users on the LAN via Printer server.
NOTES:
• You can only share one USB 2.0 printer at a time.
• Only the back USB 2.0 ports support the printer sharing function.
• Obtain information on the connection status and print queue via the Web GUI. See
3.3.23 Checking the system / hard disk / printer status
for details.
To set up a shared USB 2.0 printer via Windows® XP Add Printer Wizard:
1. Connect your USB 2.0 printer to a USB 2.0 port at the back of your NAS.
2. Enable the Printer server via the Web GUI. See
3.3.8 Enabling the Printer server

details.
3. From the Windows® desktop, click Start > Printer and Faxes > Add a printer to run
Add Printer Wizard.
4. Select A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer, then click
Next.
