3.3.9 Conguring the IP / DNS / JumboFrame settings
To congure the IP, DNS, and JumboFrame settings:
From the navigation pane, click Networks > LAN, then do either of the following:
• In the LAN Port Network Settings area, select Manual DNS as the DNS setting and
key in the IP addresses of the DNS servers for your NAS. Click Apply when done.
• In the JumboFrame (MTU) Settings area, enable JumboFrame to increase the
network throughput and the data transfer speed.
To do this:
1. Select Enable.
2. From the MTU dropdown menu, select the frame size.
3. Click Apply.
NOTE:
If you choose to obtain a dynamic IP address from the DHCP server on your LAN, use NAS
Discovery included in the Support CD to nd the NAS IP address that allows you to access
the NAS Web GUI and shared folders. See
1.5.3 NAS Discovery
for details.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure that your computer network adapter, router, and NAS have the same Jumbo Frame
settings, otherwise dierent settings will decrease the networking performance.
