ThismotherboardcomeswithtwoDoubleDataRate3(DDR3/DDR3L)DualInlineMemory
Modules(DIMM)sockets.
ADDR3modulehasthesamephysicaldimensionsasaDDR2DIMMbutisnotched
differentlytopreventinstallationonaDDR2DIMMsocket.DDR3modulesaredevelopedfor
betterperformancewithlesspowerconsumption.
• ThedefaultmemoryoperationfrequencyisdependentonitsSerialPresenceDetect
(SPD),whichisthestandardwayofaccessinginformationfromamemorymodule.
Underthedefaultstate,somememorymodulesforoverclockingmayoperateata
lowerfrequencythanthevendor-markedvalue.
• YoumayinstallvaryingmemorysizesinChannelAandChannelB.Thesystem
mapsthetotalsizeofthelower-sizedchannelforthedual-channelconguration.Any
excessmemoryfromthehigher-sizedchannelisthenmappedforsingle-channel
operation.
• AlwaysinstallDIMMswiththesameCASlatency.Foroptimalcompatibility,we
recommendthatyouinstallmemorymodulesofthesameversionordatecode(D/C)
fromthesamevendor.Checkwiththeretailertogetthecorrectmemorymodules.
• Duetothechipsetlimitation,werecommendthatyouusesingle-sided4GBor8GB,
ordouble-sided8GBDDR3perDIMMslot.ThemaximummemoryforthetwoDIMM
slotsis16GB.
• Forsystemstability,useamoreefcientmemorycoolingsystemtosupportafull
memoryload(2DIMMs)oroverclockingcondition.
