2.7 Cable connections
The bundled system cables are pre-connected before shipment. You do not need to
disconnect these cables unless you remove the pre-installed components to install
additional devices.
2.7.1 NVMe/SATA/SAS backplane
Connect to NVMe/SAS/SATA storage
devices (SAS/SATA support requires
an optional HBA/RAID card)
Connects to ASUS PIKE
II card for SAS/SATA
support on Bays 1 to 4
Connects to ASUS PIKE II card for
SAS/SATA support on Bay 5 to Bay 8
Connect to a RAID card for NVMe
support on Bay 5 to Bay 8
If a RAID card is connected to SLMPCIE3 and SLMPCIE4 connectors to support NVMe
storage devices on storage bays 5 to 8, make sure the RAID_SW2 jumper is set to 2-3.
