3. Serial ATA 6.0 Gbps connectors (7-pin SATA 6Gbps_1-8 connectors [Gray])
Supported by the Intel
®
C236 chipset, these connectors are for the Serial ATA signal
cables for Serial ATA hard disk drives that allows up to 6Gb/s of data transfer rate.
If you installed Serial ATA hard disk drives, you can create a RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 10,
or RAID 5 conguration.
• These connectors are set to [AHCI Mode] by default. If you intend to create a Serial
ATA RAID set using these connectors, set the SATA Mode item in the BIOS to [RAID
Mode]. Refer to section 5.1.3 Setting the RAID mode in BIOS for details.
• Before creating a RAID set, refer to the manual bundled in the motherboard support
DVD.
4. System Management Bus (SMBUS) connector (5-1 pin SMBUS1)
This connector controls the system and power management-related tasks. This
connector processes the messages to and from devices rather than tripping the
individual control lines.
