To power cycle a RAID subsystem means to:
• Shut down
• Turn off the power
• Turn on the power
• Restart
Power cycling is sometimes required as a remedial action but only when prompted by a message from software
orwhendirectedbyTechnicalSupport.
To power cycle the RAID subsystem:
1. Shutdownthesubsystem.
Whenthecontrollersshutdown,yournetworkconnectionislost.
2. ManuallyturnoffthesystempowerbypressingthepowerbuttonoftheRAIDunitforoverveseconds.
3. Waitatleast10seconds.
4. ManuallypressthepowerbuttonoftheJBODunits.
5. ManuallypressthepowerbuttonoftheRAIDsubsystem.
6. Waitnolessthantwominutes.
7. Do one of the following actions:
•
OpenyourbrowserandlogintoASUSStorageManagement.
• Re-establishyourTelnetorSSHconnectiontothesubsystemandopentheCLU.
Ifyoucannotloginimmediately,wait30secondsandtryagain.
Important
IfyourRAIDsubsystemmanagesJBODexpansionunits,alwayspowerontheJBODexpansion
unitsrst.ThenpowerontheRAIDsubsystem.

WhenyouchooseEventNotication,ASUSStorageManagementsendspopupand/oremailmessagesregarding
itsstatus.Themessagesyouseedependonyournoticationselectionandwhatiscurrentlyhappeninginthe
ASUSDS300fG2.
