To clear maintenance mode using a serial connection:
1. Changeyourterminalemulationprogramsettingstomatchthefollowingspecications:
• Bitspersecond:115200
• Databits:8
• Parity:None
• Stopbits:1
• Flowcontrol:none
2. StartyourPC’sterminalVT100orANSIemulationprogram.
3. Press EnteroncetolaunchtheCLI.
Theloginscreenappears.
ThefollowingstepsshowthedefaultAdministratorusernameandpassword.Useyourownusername
andpasswordifyouhavechangedthese.
4. AttheLoginprompt,typeadministrator and press Enter.
5. AtthePasswordprompt,typepassword and press Enter.
TheCLIscreenappears.
ThepromptshoulddisplayMAINTENANCEMODE@cli>.Ifthepromptdisplaysyourloginname,suchas
administrator@cli>,logintotheothercontroller.
6. AttheMAINTENANCEMODE@cli>prompt,typemaintenance -a exit and press Enter.
Thecontrollerreboots.Theloginscreenagainappears.
7. ClosetheSerialconnection.

To clear maintenance mode using a Telnet connection:
1. Gotothecommandlineprompt(Windows)orclicktheterminalicon(Linux),thenrun:
telnet 10.0.0.1 2300
TheIPaddressaboveisonlyanexample.2300istheTelnetportforASUSDS300fG2.
Theloginscreenappears.
ThefollowingstepsshowthedefaultAdministratorusernameandpassword.Useyourownusername
andpasswordifyouhavechangedthese.
2. AttheLoginprompt,typeadministrator and press Enter.
3. AtthePasswordprompt,typepassword and press Enter.
TheCLIscreenappears.
ThepromptshoulddisplayMAINTENANCEMODE@cli>.Ifthepromptdisplaysyourloginname,suchas
administrator@cli>,logintotheothercontroller.
4. AttheMAINTENANCEMODE@cli>prompt,typemaintenance -a exit and press Enter.
Thecontrollerreboots.TheTelnetsessionends.
unSaveD Data In the controller cache
The dirty cache LED (marked with the icon) informs you that there is data in the cache that has not been
savedtonon-volatilememory.Suchdataissometimescalled“dirty,”nottosuggestitiscorruptedinsomeway
butbecauseithasnotbeensavedtoaphysicaldrive.
Caution
If there is unsaved data in the controller’s cache, the dirty cache LED shines amber.
During this time, do NOT power down the ASUS DS300f G2. Wait until the LED goes
dark.
