Thesourcecodeforaworkmeansthepreferredformof
theworkformakingmodicationstoit.Foranexecutable
work,completesourcecodemeansallthesourcecodeforall
modulesitcontains,plusanyassociatedinterfacedenition
les, plus the scripts used to control compilation and
installationoftheexecutable.However,asaspecialexception,
the source code distributed need not include anything that
isnormallydistributed(ineithersourceorbinaryform)with
themajorcomponents(compiler,kernel,andsoon)ofthe
operating system on which the executable runs, unless that
componentitselfaccompaniestheexecutable.
Ifdistributionofexecutableorobjectcodeismadeby
oeringaccesstocopyfromadesignatedplace,thenoering
equivalentaccesstocopythesourcecodefromthesame
placecountsasdistributionofthesourcecode,eventhough
third parties are not compelled to copy the source along with
the object code.
