4.2.1 IGMP Snooping
Items Descriptions
IGMP Snooping You can enable or disable IGMP Snooping.
IGMP Fast-leave
When enabled, the switch will send out an IGMP
Group-Specic Query message immediately after
receiving the IGMP leave message from the host
connecting to the port to speed up the leave process.
IGMP Report
Suppression
You can enable or disable the report suppression
function.
NOTES:
• Multicast IP trac is the trac sent to a group of hosts, which are
are identied by Class D IP addresses ranging from 224.0.0.0 to
239.255.255.255.
• Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) Snooping is a feature
that allows the switch to intelligently forward multicast trac across
the switch. This prevents the switch from broadcasting trac to all
ports, which could potentially aect network performance.
