3.1 Switch setup
This section provides an introduction to the web-based
conguration utility, including:
• Powering on your device
• Connecting to the network
• Powering over Ethernet (PoE) considerations
3.1.1 Powering on your device
The switch is powered by the internal high performance DC 100-
240 V 50/60Hz power supply. It is recommended that the switch
be connected to a single-phase, three-wire power source with a
neutral outlet, or to a multi-functional computer’s professional
source.
Connect the DCIN port on the front panel of the switch to an
external power source using the supplied power cord and check
that the power LED is on.

• Power o and disconnect the power cord before servicing or wiring
a switch.
• DO NOT disconnect modules or wiring unless the power is switched
o.
• The device supports only the voltage indicated on the label. DO NOT
use power components other than those specically designed for
the switch.
