Setting the RAID item in BIOS
You must set the RAID item in the BIOS Setup before you can create a RAID
set(s). To do this:
1. Enter the BIOS Setup during POST.
2. Go to the

You can create a RAID set using the utility embedded in the RAID
controller. For example, you can use the

Utility if you installed SATA hard disk drives on the SATA connectors
supported by the Intel
®
6300ESB Southbridge.
The Adaptec RAID Configuration Utility allows you to create RAID 0 and
RAID 1 set using the SATA hard disk drives connected to the SATA
connectors supported by the motherboard Southbridge chip.
To enter the Adaptec RAID Configuration Utility:
1. Turn on the system after installing all the SATA hard disk drives.
2. During POST, the Adaptec HostRAIDâ„¢ technology automatically
detects the installed SATA hard disk drives and displays any existing
RAID set(s). Press <Ctrl> <A> to enter the utility.
