Planning & Design: Drying Cabinet
DC7171
The drying cabinet must be connected to a 110-120 volt, single
phase, 60 Hz grounded wall outlet.
The unit comes with a 79" power cord attached, but the receptacle
should be installed in an easy to reach location that will allow the
plug to be removed without moving the drying closet.
When venting, the duct attaches to a 4" round exhaust collar that
is approximately 3" high.
The minimum clearance between the sides, back and top of the
unit and the cabinet should be at least 1/2" (12 mm).
The drying cabinet exhaust collar should be connected to a 4"
diameter solid vent pipe with a maximum length of 3'3".
If the location of the drying cabinet installation won’t accommodate
the preferred venting requirements, the unit may be ducted into
the laundry room. Please note: This is not the preferred method
of installation.
Since the washing machine door is hinged on the right hand side,
the drying cabinet should be installed to the left of the stacked
laundry pair. Doing so will allow easier transfer of the wash load
between the washing machine and the drying closet avoiding the
open washing machine door.
